The coaches · Legacy Fitness, Blaine

Four coaches, one gym that feels like family.

Legacy began with a simple mission: “to change lives and help others make health and fitness part of their lasting LEGACY”.

The reasoning is practical. Lasting results need a LIFESTYLE overhaul, not a six-week sprint. So every coach on this page works the same way: small classes, a nutrition plan you can live with, and a weekly check-in that keeps the plan honest. It is 25+ years of helping men and women in their 40s, 50s and 60s move better, feel stronger and live longer.

Not sure where you would fit? Look at the four programs or the class schedule first, then meet the people running them.

Who is on the floor with you.

The owners coach and run the gym. The nutrition coaches sit down with you weekly and turn the plan into groceries, meals and one small change at a time.

Griffin Jerke

Owner & Lifestyle Coach

Griffin earned his degree at St. Cloud State University and became a certified personal trainer in 2005.

He then trained at a Gold's Gym for 3 years before wanting a bigger impact on the community. That is how Legacy Fitness started, and he has coached hundreds of people to their goals since.

What he builds on the floor is a community "like a family", where the coach knows your name and notices when you skip a week.

Kate Jerke

Owner & Operations Manager

Kate holds a Bachelor's in Exercise Science and is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Before co-running Legacy she served 8 years in the Army, including two deployments to Iraq. She runs the operations side of the gym with the same discipline.

She and Griffin are raising two sons, Lincoln and Drake.

What coaching looks like week to week.

Every class is coached and every exercise has a modification, so you work at your own level from your first day. Many members had not been in a gym for years before they walked in. If you have an old injury, tell your coach and the move gets swapped.

  • Small groups, on purpose

About 15 people per class means a coach can watch your form and tailor each exercise to your ability.

  • A weekly one-on-one check-in

Members check in with a coach every week, which is where accountability stops being a slogan.

  • A plan for your life

Work, kids and activities make it easy to put yourself on the back burner. The plan is built around where you are now. Send a message and a coach will get back to you.
